Do prisons and jails take the social security of inmates?
I have a pen pal in prison serving a life sentence and have sent priority mail packages. Every one of those goes to their "AGENT" before being delivered. The USA has only 5% of the population of the planet, but 25% of the prisoners, governments today are more interested in money. Many of the prisoners had jobs and paid Social Security and Medicare before prison. Does governments through their jails and prisons take the prisoners social security away from the prisoners families.

The prisons and jails do not get your social security
A convicted felon loses all types of rights and benefits because they decided to commit major crimes against society.
They cannot vote in Federal elections, They have no right to bear arms, etc.
And there was no way roosevelt could have gotten the original social security passed if they had allowed prisoners the benifit.
Social Security Disability Insurance
(SSDI) and Supplemental Security
Income (SSI) payments generally aren’t
payable for months that you’re confined
to a jail, prison, or certain other public
institutions for committing a crime.
You’re not automatically eligible for
Social Security or SSI payments after
your release.
Although you can’t receive monthly
Social Security benefits while you’re
incarcerated, benefits to your spouse or
children will continue as long as they
remain eligible.
