Is punishment by fire for eternity a reasonable sentence for any amount of wrong /horrible actions a person could manage in a life time?

When we die, regardless of how we lived or what we believed, we cease to exist (Ecclesiastics 9:5, 6,10). Life is a gift rewarded to the faithful not the unsaved (1 John 2:17; Romans 6:23). Yahweh does not want to torture the wicked for all eternity as that would not be very loving or just. Since life is a gift, those who are wicked or not saved will just cease to exist while the faithful will have everlasting life in the New Jerusalem (Matthew 5:5, Revelation 5:10).
