In Victoria Australia after suffering through last night, what are your heatwave suggestions?

I organise myself in the morning when it's still (relatively) cool, then lie low, often literally, for the rest of the day. A wet towel and a fan are my weapons of choice.

Or you could do what a few locals around here do - go for an early walk to the bottle shop, carry a nice cold case of beer back home then spend the day blissfully unaware of the heat.

Grow more trees around the house. The shade from trees reduces the temperature by around 5 degrees Celsius. Worth waiting for.

It's incredible how so many of the new housing estates, and older ones too, are so lacking in trees. Hot deserts of searing concrete and bitumen.

not forgetting our four legged best friends... I put a takeaway container full of water in the freezer then put the ice in his water bowl he loves licking the ice and of course like us a good cold drink goes down well

Freeze wet tea towels, take them out one at a time, put them on your feet, on your head, whatever, they work good at quickly reducing body temperature.

Staying inside my home and tormenting those that have no AC. I would also rename my Wi-Fi network to IhaveAC.

Put an ice cube up your bottom.
