Writing format for me is however the Word document opens up for me to type on, just with font size 12 so I can read it. But I think every author has their own preferences.
As for words per page, that doesn't matter. Just write how you feel you can do your best. And if you want to self-publish, try doing a writing course first so you get a proper idea about how to do it. A lot of them include self-publishing as part of the course, so that would tell you all you need to know.

And the question would be, why?
You don't even have a story to write.
That is why you are wasting time worrying about format and things like that.
Jack Kerouac wrote "On the Road" on butcher paper so he would not have to stop writing to change paper in his typewriter. (You DO know who Jack Kerouac is, correct?)
Stop coming up with ways to NOT write.
If you have a story then write it.
You can always reformat it later.
Once it is done that is.
