How can I read fast again?

I used to read really fast. I also had no problem figuring out what each sentence meant. But lately I ve been reading a lot slower. That wouldn t bother me on its own, but I have also been struggling to read the sentences. Like, I will have to read it over five times to understand what it means. And this is even on easy books, like middle school books. I don t know what s going on; it s like I m not focusing on the stories like I used to. If this is the case, how can I fix this problem?

Well, the simplest way to do so is to just read a lot. The more you read, the faster you'll get at it.

Immerse yourself in the story. If you're struggling to understand the meaning of certain sentences, you're either looking too far into it or you're reading books too advanced for your reading level.

That doesn't sound normal. Ask your teacher, and maybe you can get tested to make sure nothing is wrong. It MIGHT be that you simply are reading harder stuff. As you read more and more, you'll get faster.

But since it's happening with easy books, that's ominous. It's better to know if something's wrong -- you have a chance of fixing it. If you ignore it, it could get worse and then like ultimate worse (if it's something like a brain tumor).
