Can my chain of command go against Doctor reccomandation?

My doctor on base told me that she recommended to my chain of command that I be separated from the army then the Sergent major said there was nothing wrong with me and told he would refuse to sign my papers is this wrong? And who do I talk to about this

Your Chain of Command can choose or accept her recommendation AT THEIR DISCRETION.

You can only appeal the decision through your Chain of Command, and the Sergeant Major has to pass your request along up the Chain of Command all the way to whoever is your CO.

Your commanding officer makes the decision, neither a staff medical officer nor an SM can make the decision, he can take both their recommendations under advisement as he makes the decision

Of course. That is why they call it a "doctor's recommendation" and not a "doctor's order" and why it goes through your chain of command.
