period question???

does a regular pad hold more, less, or the same amount as a regular tampon? thanks:))

    Good question! I would say a pad probably holds less only because while they are both made of similar material, the pad is horizontal so there is only maybe a centimeter or so between the top of the pad and bottom before things get.. leaky. Tampons are vertical, so there are a few inches of absorbency. While blood only gets on part of the pad, there is room in the full tampon to become entirely saturated since the entire thing is directly in line with bloodflow.

    A regular absorbency tampon will hold up to 9g, but there's no way to accurately determine how much a pad would hold because it depends on how much of the pad the blood goes into - e.g. if you were to dunk a whole pad into a glass of water it'd absorb more than if you were to pour water into just the center of the pad until capacity. In theory a regular absorbency tampon will hold more than a regular absorbency pad, but it may differ for you.

    More. But you don't end up using all of it, whereas you use all a tampon.

    In reality they last for about as long.
