what is the total width of the turnpike at tree lanes?
Typically they are 12' per lane, the width of the line is 6," are they between each lane line, which would make it 36' wide total. If the lane are their own measurement it would be 37.5 feet total. please advise. thanks in advanced!
NJ Turnpike! I guess that helps narrow down which Turnpike that I'm talking about :)

You have no idea how do do the math, do you? let me break it down for you, Michelle, being that you're so smart...
the federal requirement for lane width for a highway is 10' wide, the NJ TPK is 12'...are you following so for?
The length of the lines themselves (you know... those stripes that guide you straight) are 12' long, the width of each line is 6" wide;
The Shoulder of each side of the road is also 12'
if you do not include the width of the lines to the total width of the New Jersey Turnpike, it would be, technically, 12x5 which is 60 ft across. you know, the two 12' shoulders, and the three individual lanes in between add up to 5. If you factor in the 6' lines then it would be 24 additional inches (the 2 sets of stripes that make 3 lanes plus the 2 shoulder lines). I guess I should speak to someone with actual knowledge, rather than some troll who hides behind a screen saying how illiterate I am, when you can't even do the math, or to simply answer the question whether, or not to factor in the lines. So, you can go read between the "lines" and find something better to do. As far as I'm concerned, you have a lot to learn.

38', there are 4 lines on a three lane highway.
And get back to 1st grade: you are illiterate and can't count either.
