How do you get blisters in dough?
I'm making a recipe that says "knead dough till it blisters." Huh? I googled and can find this but no explanation as to how it is achieved. Is there some special way of kneading? I usually buy pie dough and used a bread machine so I have little experience kneading.

the outer layer of the dough bubbles eventually. this usually takes about an hour of kneading. dough is very elastic and with the continuous kneeding: fold over a quarter, press down, turn, fold over the quarter, press down, turn on and on and on for about an hour the outside of the dough eventually bubbles or blisters. it is stretched so thin!

They just mean tiny air bubbles. When it's elastic usually. If you're doing it by hand at least 10 minutes. A dough hook 5-8.
