How to date after divorce from a long marriage?
I have a first date this weekend after my divorce. It has been almost a year after the divorce. I haven't "dated" for over 15 years (dated my ex for 5, married for 10)! I really just need some helpful advice as I am a bit nervous, excited....but nervous. I am 35 by the way, and my date is in his early 40s. Thanks for your help!

Try to use common sense. Do NOT talk about your ex, your divorce. This is just an initial meeting, get together to get to know each other. Don't give away too much information all at once in hopes there maybe a second date if you two are mutually attracted. You can make it clear that you are coming out of a divorce and haven't dated in quit a while and are a bit rusty and nervous. Odds are he will be nervous too, but don't go into details about your ex and the divorce. Also if you drink alcohol, do NOT have more then two drinks or you will regret it, even if you can handle more don't do it.
Just relax, it's just a date, an adventure a chance to get to meet someone new. Neither or you are obligated to see each other again or jump right into a committed relationship.

Just order an RC Cola and Moon Pie and smile, just like I would. Relax, you're a veteran at this stuff.
