What happens if air dry clay is fired in a kiln?
I know air dry clay shouldn t be fired in a kiln, but what would happen if it was? Would the project be destroyed, or would it just end up cracked or something? Would it hurt the kiln? I ve been looking online and I haven t been able to find out.

All air-dry clays (except earthen clays) will just burn up if exposed to the very high heats in any kiln. Probably wouldn't hurt the kiln though, but don't know.
Just leave air-dry clays out in the air (not cold, damp or unmoving air) at least overnight to dry them. Some people try to speed up drying by putting air-dry clays in the oven at low temp but drying *too fast* may cause air-dry clays to crack.
