If the asker means the Republic of Ireland then thats a Sovereign state as is the US of course. UK laws do not apply to them. Scotland is a part of the UK but does have a separate legal system so an injunction may not apply there.?

Depends on how the laws work in each country, a lot of money could be at stake for the lawyers and anyone else in contempt. So it's not ludicrous really, just a legal minefield.

It seems like a waste because of that, but it is UK law, so it keeps people in UK from knowing the person's name. You could always look up the name on American websites.
