Do the people who are for the legalization of marijuana even care how it will effect minors?

Places that have legalized do so with similar laws that are already in place for alcohol. It's not legally available to anyone, but just those people 21 or older (in the US states that have legalized it). And providing it to minors is also illegal just like providing alcohol to minors is illegal.

So how does legalizing it effect minors?

There would be laws regarding the use of marijuana by minors, just as there are against minors buying cigarettes and liquor. It's not going to affect minors at all, they seem to get it whenever they want it now.

You need to look at that in a more realistic light.

Yes, and that's a real concern. It seems that in the places where it has been legalized, it has given teens the idea that it's perfectly safe to use, even though we know that alcohol, marijuana and other drugs affect developing brains differently from adult brains. So there's still a black market selling weed to minors, which keeps money going to the drug dealers (part of the argument for legalization is to take the profits out of it for criminals).

If they honestly cared about the effect on minors, they would NOT want legalization at all.

That's what good parents do. They know who their kid's friends are and where they're at. Why does the government have to babysit your kids cause you can't keep track of them?

Besides, even in states where it is legal, there are age limits just like on alcohol.

I suspect it will be no worse than the legal alcohol, that minors illegally drink. Minors would still illegally toke. No change really.

And WHY should it be any different than BEFORE it was "legal"? Minors & tobacco. Minors & alcohol. Minors & pot... No matter what the substance, minors ARE going to get it whether it's "Legal" or not.

The legalization is just one more reason for minors to say "well, adults do it, why can't I?"

Not at all. Luckily for us, it's still illegal at the Federal level. Any incoming GOP President will be enforcing the laws.
