How long will an Illinois pawn shop keep your items before selling them?

It depends on the agreement with the pawn shop, and whether you are giving something as collateral or for keeps.
So, the time ranges from a couple of days (when you sell the item(s) to the pawnshop) to up to two months (60 days -- a short-term loan, effectively).
It doesn't matter which state or country you are in... similar laws aply: you are either using the item as collateral, and it becomes the pawnshop owners at the end of the period specified, or you are selling the item to the pawnshop, in which case, it's their's to dispose of.

Each shop varies. Just ask. They're not in the habit of being a storage facility. The items WILL go up for sale.
