If Teflon is a non-stick material how do they get it to stick to the pan?

Not so much non-stick as hard to stick to. There is a glue that holds the Teflon to the metal. I don't know any details about the glue itself, but I do know that early Teflon-coated pans suffered from the Teflon breaking off due to the glue wearing out over time (and heat).
