Blue berries in Alaska?

When going above the tree line while climbing the Mountains in Alaska I noticed a blueberry plant anyone knows what it is and is it edible

    Yes. Alaskan wild blueberries are some of the best blueberries. They are smaller than domestic blueberries but more flavorful. They make great jam. You may also see loganberries, more commonly called low-bush cranberries, in the same area as the blueberries and possibly raspberries on lower slopes.

    That's a blueberry bush, and yes, blueberries are edible. In the same area, you will probably also find cranberries.

    They call them "bearberries." They are indeed edible. The grow on mountains all over the continent. They certainly are not as tasty as domestic, high bush blueberries but they are edible.
