According to Deu 18:22, was Isaiah 7:14 a false prophecy because he was named Jesus not Immanuel? God with us is not Jesus?

22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously:

Deut 18:22 (KJV)

---

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)

---

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

Matt 1:21 (KJV)

Shall we strive for accuracy? Please replace the word Lord, with the name Jehovah and Jesus has many designations. His name in heaven used to be Michael, which means - Who is like God?

The bible says that he has been given a new name. We are not told what it is.

He is also called Immanuel - God is with us.

However in the days of Isaiah, the prophet asked for a sign and considering the circumstances at the time, the word may simply have meant what it means, God is with us.

In Matthew, there is no question that it applies to Jesus.

Jesus Christ, by the way, is a title, meaning, the anointed one, sent to us by God.

Sorry the KJV is not correct. The Messiah will be born of 2 human parents. He brings peace to all the world. Immanuel rebuilds the Jewish Temple. During his time all of mankind will worship the one true God Almighty - YHVH. The messiah does not die to return later. To learn the truth get yourself a Hebrew/English Version of the Bible. Jesus is never mentioned in the Old Testament which is the origonal Bible. The New Testament is an addition mankind/Satan wrote to decieve mankind into believing Jesus died for the sins of mankind. God told Moses no man, person or being can die for another person's sins. Only He, YHVH can forgive mankind's sins. He, God, said to ask Him with a sincere heart for forgiveness and He will forgive us. God told the Angels it was/is a sin to lay with the women of the Earth. But the Angels disobeyed God. The had children with the women. This offspring is know as the Nephilim. God flooded the Earth due to this sin and mankin's sins. So there is no way God came to Earth or sent His Spirit to impregnate another man's betrothed. That would be a sin.

    Immanuel means Literally God-With-Us

behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

The word, "Jesus," means "LORD is salvation." This is appropriate since Jesus is LORD, second person of the Trinity, who became flesh and is our salvation.

Jesus was His given name, the name God commanded Mary to give to His/her son. (Matt 1:21) Immanuel is a title, or description of who He was, meaning "God with us".

    NO

Isa 7:14 referred directly to Isaiah's son. And prophetically to Jesus Christ who would appear much later.

    JUST READ THE WORDS!

    And you missed this

Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, >>>and they shall call his name Emmanuel<<<, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Immanuel in both testaments is a title - not a name

In NT Greek "name" is Greek "onoma" meaning:

"describes everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one's rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc."

For example you call your father "Dad" as BOTH a name AND a title.

I see you don't know all of those old languages. Jesus is the American English word for Immanuel (in the original language).
