What do you think about exposing children to casual, non-sexual nudity among family members within the house?

Does this teach children to have positive and healthy attitudes about the human body or is it immoral?

Lots of people do it, and it doesn't seem to cause problems.

In contrast to religious groups (Baptists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Hasidic Jews...), I've never heard of pedophile nudists.

I've known people who were nudists, and they seemed fairly normal to me, and their kids weren't weird or anything like that. It all depends on how you handle it. If you've got terrific hangups about nudity, that will make the situation uncomfortable. If you're adult about it, I see nothing wrong with it.

Source(s): Religious pedophile scandals: https://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+muslims+i... Most of the first hits are about the Catholic Church, but search on any denomination and you're likely to find something.
  • There is nothing sexual about nudity, especially to children. Until we indoctrinate them with the idea that the naked body is evil. Nudists are not sexually provocative, they just choose not to wear clothes. They wear clothes when needed. Rural tribes of ancient and not so ancient people living in very warm climates didn't wear clothes until modern times - they weren't constantly incestuous. Certain clothes are a ot more sexually provocative than nakedness is.

How could it possibly be immoral? We are human beings with bodies. So are they. America's Victorian obsession with purity never ceases to amaze me. I think exposing kids to casual non sexual nudity is normal and healthy.

It's no big deal. It's not like your hiding anything with your clothes on. Everybody knows what's underneath. You can even open your front door and stand there naked. It's perfectly legal. Some guy did that and the police couldn't arrest him because he wasn't breaking any laws.

I don't see the harm. There are plenty of nudist families who are always naked in their house with children and in nudist resorts. When I was 9 I saw tree completely naked women in a parade. I thought it was amusing and pointed it out to my sister, but it did not affect me at all.

It isn't immoral but society isn't going to make it easy.

Do you by any chance live in a trailer, and have a 16 year old daughter that you get naked with and that can't keep her hands off me?
