Problem with tampons!!! Please help me?

Ok so first I am a 14 year old and I've had my period for almost a year now. I'm going to high school in a few months and I'm still wearing pads. I really think pads are messy and smell bad, and I really hate that gush everytime I move, stand up , cough, laugh, sneeze, pretty much anything. So I started looking into tampons. On my first period, I was already tired of the gush so I asked my mom to buy me tampons. When I was inserting it , it didn't hurt. But about 5 minutes later I felt something wet . I checked and turns out it leaked. I asked my sister what was wrong and she said it's not in far enough. So I went to the bathroom and tried to take it out. And when I say it hurt BADLY. Ever since then, I've been scared to use them. Time and time again I try and try but I just end up wasting them, because I get really scared. Now I'm just fed up with being scared and I'm tired of pads so I just bought tampons(regular). I went to the bathroom and started to put one in. I did not feel it at all, but I barely put it in. I threw away the tampon and put on a pad;((( Everytime I try to put in a tampon I chicken out. I'm scared it will hurt to out in. I'm also scared it'll hurt to take out or I'll get TSS someone plz help with my fear.

also sorry for the long message!!!

    Ok- relax and breathe-

first are you aiming & pushing the tampon in at an >Angle>more towards your Lower Back & >Not> straight up

Your vagina >Slants> towards your Lower back it is Not straight up & down

so the tampon Must go in at an Angle to fit correctly and prevent leakage

There are many Videos and sites on How to use a tampon

watch and read some of these and then Try again- NOT tensing up or being afraid

Firstly, I suggest you get better quality pads. I suggest Always Ultra Thin with wings. Change them more often if you find they smell.

It hurt to take the tampon out, because the tampon was too dry. You were pulling on the dry tampon against the dry inner walls of the vagina. Next time, let it get wet, and then dry to take it out.

    This is all normal.

A thin or think membrane ( sheet of skin) covers the entrance to the vagina in virgins.

The tampon must be pushed past this and into the back of the vagina where the cervical opening to the uterus is. The menstrual blood comes from the

uterus wall when no egg is there growing.

THis hurts , and may bleed a bit , until the hymen is broken.

** You leaked because you only pressed the tampon before the hymen against the urethra opening.= which stimulated peeing.
