On the New York Thruway, do all travelers using EZ-Pass get a discount toll lower than cash-payers, or only those with e-zpassny accounts?

To comment on Joseph's answer: I do not live upstate, but I have an EZ-PassNY. I get discounts on the NYC bridges and tunnels as well as on the NYS Thruway Authority roads. I do not get a discount on the Port Authority Bridges and Tunnels or on the Mid-Hudson Bridge (the NYSBA).

The whole thing is very confusing and convoluted. It's a mess.

It depends on the agency issuing the EZ-Pass tags which, in turn, depends on your location. If you live in NY City, MTA Bridges and Tunnels will issue the tag. You get discount on the MTA Bridges and Tunnles but not on Port Authority crossings or NY State Thruway. If you live upstate and your tag is from the Thruway Authority you don't get a discount on the NYC bridges.
