What can I do about my headlight covers? The plastic is very cloudy.?

I have a 99 Honda Prelude. I've tried a couple of different cleaner/polishers but I only got it a little better. Is there something that can be done? Should I replace them with original equipment or an after market product. Anyone have a success story?

I have on a 2002 Chevy Avalanche. Real cheap way is to clean with water first then use cheap toothpaste on a green scratchpad sponge (scatch pad side) Also have used a Mr. Clean magic eraser. Masking tape to protect the paint then rinse and rinse again then hair spray or clear acrylic paint. over the top. Both worked very good as long as you keep the lenses damp so the paste doesn't dry out while you are rubbing. Takes the small scratches out and removes the outer oxidized layer. The Clear let the light shine through better. As for replacement you are 50/50 Aftermarket usually cheaper but may cause other problems as in current draw, voltage and fitment.

I was at the car wash and the guy said he could do them for $25 each. I told him that was too much. so he went down to $40. He used rubbing compound and a buffing machine and they look brand new now.
