Is "reverse racism" a real thing? How do you define racism?

It is what it is.

"Reverse racism" is still racism, so it isn't accurate; however, what people call reverse racism is racism because it does exist, so, in that vein, it is a thing. It's like the word "ain't." It isn't really a word and it doesn't mean anything, but it's totally a word anyway and everybody knows what you mean when you use it.

The definition of racism is that it is a belief in racial superiority.

The concept of reverse racism comes from a flawed definition of racism that pertains to discrimination of black people.

Sure, discrimination against black people would be racist against them, since the logic of the practice relies heavily on the assumption that there is a reason to discriminate against them (which would be inferiority in any context), but that doesn't mean that discrimination against any other race is racism reversed by assuming that new race's inferiority (and, obviously, the discriminator's race's superiority) - they are both two sides of the same coin, which is racism, which is a belief in one's own racial superiority and, of course, which is exemplified by means of hatred and discrimination primarily.

This is more opinion than anything, but I see it as if there's.. Several types of racism.

Firstly would be the majority discriminating against the minority. Because the minority would have the disadvantage, they have trouble fighting back and it tends to affect them greatly. Like a black person in America or a white person in Liberia.

Secondly would be the minority discriminating against the majority. It isn't quite as effective as they lack the power to carry out their racism and hence not as much as an issue, but it's still a rather gross mentality.

Thirdly would be unintentional microaggressions. It's just that thing where people will ask about a person's kinked hair or extremely dark/pale skin, or tell you you're not like other people of your race. It isn't exactly always born out of hatred but it's annoying on a daily basis and rude.

Racism is believing one race is innately inferior to another or hating another person because of their race.

Racism has nothing to do with minority versus majority, nor does it have anything to do with power that a specific race has in a country.

So yes, any race of person can be racist or be a victim of racism. Racism lies within an INDIVIDUAL'S opinions, not within their race.

Racism is racism. The reverse of racism would mean not being racist at all.

In its simplest terms, racism is discriminating against someone because of their race. Majority or minority rules are recent add ons that some people use.

If a black person refuses to employ a white person because he or she doesn't like white people, that would be just as bigoted as the other way round.

Racism is discriminating against a person solely on the grounds of their race. Because blacks, coloureds and people with slanting eyes are easy for Caucasians to pick out, many people associate racism with being against 'blacks'. Let me put you right. I have experienced racial discrimination from non-Caucasians.

It's extremely racist for people to think that racism is a 'white' man's privilege.

I do not define racism, but Websters Dictionary defines it as:

poor treatment of or violence against people because of their race,

the belief that some races of people are better than others
