Fix it ticket for no proof of insurance.?
Today I was pulled over and received a fix it ticket for not having insurance. If I understand correctly you can get a fix it ticket for not having proof of insurance but not for not having insurance at all. If I get insurance and continue with the fix it ticket process will they still sign off on my ticket?

If you did not have insurance on the date you were cited, you can't get the ticket dismissed. That is only for people who were insured on that date but simply forgot to have their paperwork on them. If you can show you got insurance immediately after, you may be given a lesser punishment.

To 'fix' the ticket, you have to submit proof you had insurance in effect at the time you were cited. If you get insurance, it CANNOT be made effective prior to the date you submitted the application.

It is one thing to have insurance but not have the proof with you and another not to have insurance. No one here knows how your local police department will deal with it.
