My 2016 Mustang GT has two USB ports with similar problems. In the sales literature they are listed as "Smart charging" USB ports, but they both suck at charging my phone. The one in the center stack on the dashboard flat out won't charge my phone, it says it's charging on the phone, yet it somehow *loses* charge when it's plugged in. The one in the center console at least charges my phone, but it's very slow, it would take about 4 hours to go from 30% charge to full.
What I did was just buy a USB charger that goes in a power port/cigarette lighter. I bought this one
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M6QODH2/ref=o...
and put in it the power port in the center console. it charges my phone about as fast as standard wall charger, which is a big improvement.

Cheap phone charges are not the dealers fault if they don't work in the cars 12 volt sockets. You blow the fuse for the outlet yet?
