Where do you all stand on Traffic Cams and Speeding? Good, bad, corporate takeover, big brother?

While pulling traffic cams down in multiple cities, it was found that they actually lower the rates of accidents at those intersections. The response was they were only for revenue generating not safety anyways. Those cities continued to pull them down.
If that response is actually what big brother believes they are for, then I say rip them all down. There are some areas like schools checking health, dental, diet, crap like that. Becouse too many parents are idiots and don't do their jobs. Big brother has to over reach but these cameras going up everywhere, these frigging drones flying over my house, are overreach.

I'm in favor of strict traffic enforcement. I'm OK with using cameras for speeding and red light enforcement.
I wouldn't mind the vehicle owner being responsible for that vehicle at all times, even if someone else is driving. Your car runs a red light, you get a ticket. If someone else was driving that is between you and the someone, but you, as the owner, are responsible for the ticket. So people would be careful about who they let drive their car, their fleet vehicle. And so that we could ticket infractions more efficiently without regard for who happens to be driving.
I don't think "reasonable expectations of privacy" applies to a car going down a public street or highway.

Not in support of using cameras in this way. If you are going to get a speeding ticket, an officer should have to have a conversation with you.

Our police here say they have 2 radar units to use in the province. I have yet to see them used. Must be the right amount. That would be in a State in America. They say they have special police that set up & use them in problem areas. This area must not be a problem.

Speed limits are there for a reason. I fully support cameras.

Ticketing people by camera should be illegal and any government/law enforcement official that works to make it possible should be executed.
