Why does the CGI in Jurassic Park (despite being 20 years old) look more real than Jurassic World.?

Because Jurassic Park knew when to use CGI sparingly, and how to blend it with practical effects to give it a genuinely convincing feel.

Jurassic World is a CGI fest, because not only is it cheaper and easier nowadays, but production companies are against using it because audiences have become too used to CGI. The movie has, I believe, only 2 scenes with practical effects, the dying brontosaurus and the raptors in muzzles.

CGI is a great tool when used properly, it shouldn't just be an alternative to practical effects so you can save time and money.

Because it is not CGI at all.

They created real animatronics and clever camera angles believe it or not.

In one of the scenes there is 2 characters in the kitchen hiding behind a counter and a raptor walks in.

If you look behind the raptor you can see a production crew member's hand keeping the animatronic steady
