Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Why does YA work differently now? When you used to look at an answer, when leaving the answer you were taken back to where you left off.?

Now you're taken back to the beginning of the questions. Why?

Possibly because of how the question list is set up. Before, the questions were limited to something like a maximum of twenty a page with numerous pages that you could flip through, such a set up made it easier to return to where you left off since a single page is easy to be stored and recalled. Now with it being an "infinite" list that loads up more and more as you scroll further and further, it seems that is harder to maintain the position on. One thing you can try is to open up a question in another tab, rather than the same one as the question list; this way allows you to close the tab with the question when you are done with it, and go back to the tab with the question list which should be right where you left off.

Source(s): Personal experience with both versions and using the tab way, as well as my thoughts and theories about the changes.

I know what you are talking about,& I hate it..

The green YA format had a lot of advantages, but it was not smart phone & mobile device friendly/compatible.

Find the question with your partial answer. Click in the empty answer box. Amazingly your words suddenly appear where you left off. Sometimes, I copy and paste into a word pad, so I don't loose anything.

It is just another ongoing famous glitch of theirs, all you can do is refresh and start over until your answer is submitted.
