I'm writing a story involving super heroes, can anyone name some powers?
If you can, please explain the details involving the power and anything else they can do with them.

You need the power of your imagination. Have you read about, or watched movies involving, super heroes? Have you read fairy-tales? What powers does Superman have? The Bionic Woman? Merlin, the magician of King Arthur's stories? What can they do that you can't? Those are the hero's powers. Superman, coming from another planet, was either born with his or the difference between Earth and Krypton augmented the strengths he had. The Bionic Woman was reconstructed. Merlin learned spells and practiced his magic. Dr. Faustus had the devil's power at his command.
---Update--
I replied to Jepchamp's comment that I wanted you to see how already created superheroes acquired their powers so that you can think of how and why your characters should acquire what you'll give them. Merlin by study and practice, Faustus by a pact with a powerful being, Superman by birth and by Earth's environment being different than Krypton's, and the Bionic Woman's by surgical implants.
What is your character's situation? What powers would he or she need? Does she need super hearing if she's a spy? Yes. Does she need to conjure or to pray to someone for the ability to go back in time? The powers should fit the situation.

Some of these answers are so smug. Sorry about them. Let's see, hmmm.. the power to freeze anything as in the "immobulus!" Spell used by Hermione on the Cornish Pixies in the second Harry Potter movie. Or... the power to silence particular noises, or create them. For example, a thunderclap to make people disperse thinking it will rain. A loud crash to turn everyone's heads in another direction...good luck with your story..

You don't need the traditional super powers! Its your story, make it uniqe. I wrote a book with a super power in it and it was to tickle your foot then for 30 seconds you were an animal. Its pretty strange, but its my story.

Anything you want! :) I'm a writer myself, and I thought I was bound by things already made, but you can make anything up. You're only bound by your imagination. And don't listen to the doubters either. Look at JK Rowling. She was turned down by several publishers, but she kept going. Now she's famous for her amazing Harry Potter series! :) Just believe in yourself.

It's your story...your characters. Make up ANY super power and if you write it well enough, your readers will go with it.

Super smell, You are a dog , you can smell out anything. That goes from Plutonium to a trace of Marijuana. Natural gas leaking 200 meters under the ground, Dogs have really good noses.
I have my own story going on that but not likely to write it,
Kind of revolves around Tunguska.

A power to delete something from the universe in a thought of a mind. Man, if that was real and the guy was evil we would be all stuffed bad. LIKE BAD, launch a missile at him, he thinks it gone and it's gone then he thinks you gone and your gone.
