You are the Commish of the NFL, would you eliminate ties?

How would you change the OT rules?

I like the college rules better, but since ties in the NFL are so infrequent, I wouldn't change it at all. No reason.

I wouldn't. Honestly, since the NFL added OT there have been very few ties and usually those ties are because both teams were so bad that neither team could win, like last Sunday night. There doesn't always have to be a winner

But I would be 100% ok with the college OT format if they move the ball back to the 35 or 40

Yes most definitely. Ties are useless. I would have the final period and if it was still tied start lining up the kickers and have them go back 5 yards each time. They keep going until a miss and then there has got to be a winner some way or another. Conley 39 is right the commish does not change the rules.

I'd say, add 2 overtime periods and if NO ONE wins at the end, a simple lucky coin toss will determine the outcome. It beats ties. If one team blames the other team for winning at the end of the 2 overtimes because they "got lucky" with heads or tails, the team should've played better BEFORE 6 quarters ended.

Ties aren't frequent enough to necessitate elimination, but they could just have the OT open-ended until someone scores a touchdown

The commissioner does not have that power in the NFL. When the owners tell Goodell to jump, he asks 'how high' while on the way up.

I'd probably not change regular season OT rules at all.

I would, however, change the postseason OT rules to match the college rules.

You are one of those that has to see someone win. Why can't you have 2 team that are so good that neither deserve to lose.

I'd use the college OT rules.

The Commissioner doesn't change the rules. That's not his job.
