How can I get traveling information to get from different places in Israel?

I want to rent a car & tour Israel. Most of the sites I want to see are biblical & I don't have addresses. Anyone help me?

Thanks

    For car rental --

I arrange from US online with one of the standard ones (Budget or Herz or one of those) -- pick up and drop off at the airport.

    For navigation --

I used Waze last time I went.

This is an Israeli built GPS App that is free for your smartphone.

I quite often use Waze to navigate in the US as well.

Waze has general search capacity as well as just the "address" type searches.

Make sure you have a phone with a data plan for the time you are in Israel - as Waze can not be used offline.

It updates dynamically with real time traffic.

    Further --

Start with the Israeli tourism website

    http://www.goisrael.com/

You should be able to find info on all sites.

Israel is big on "Biblical destinations" Tourism and there is generally a synagogue, church, or mosque (or all three) associated with it, or it is a national park.

Also -- each historical city has its own tourism website.

Last time I went, I planned each day in a specific city after looking at their site.

    NOTE

Areas that are "beyond the Green Line" -- in the disputed areas ie: Judea, Samaria /aka West Bank --

    (ie: Hebron, Bethlehem)

you should really book a tour with a bus and security.

They will be aware of any special safety needs.

    For that matter --

if its your first time and you are a little iffy on finding your way -

    Get day trips with tours

    There are Jewish focused ones,

    Christian focused ones,

    Muslim focused ones...

If you're staying at a half-decent hotel, they should be able to hook you up.

Must be very carefull. If you mistake, army may confused and traumatize your body with the bullets.

Is not so safe in travelling alone. Travel better with guide because life is always in dangerous here.

I think you have enjoyment very much in country of ours.
