Is it safe to torrent windows onto a new computer?
I just built a new computer and don't want to pay the money for a licensed copy of windows so I was wondering if there is a safe way to torrent the software and how safe is it to do? I heard your computer can be locked, is that true?

If you go to a store and steal something, what do you expect is going to happen?
Pirating software isn't really much different.
If you are afraid of your system locking up, then don't pirate and purchase Windows legally.
Pirated software may work as intended, or it might not. You don't know what extra viruses/bots the uploader includes with the torrent.
If you want to pirate it, that's your choice but don't come whining to us when MS locks your system until you purchase a legal key.

Torrenting in itself is generally safe as long as you don't go to places that distribute illegal content (which may be laced with malware).
That being said, "I don't want to pay for it" is a pretty poor reason to ask people how to pirate.

Yes it can be locked. Yes it SHOULD be locked. Stealing software is not a good idea. AND telling everyone across the Internet that you intend to steal software is rather worse!!
