I have been rasied as vegetarian by my parents since I was about 8 years old, and I have been sticking to it. I think I want to stay vegetarian because I don't like what they do at the slaughter houses.

I became vegetarian when I was a young teen, back in 2004 or so, when the hidden cam video against KFC came out. The video showed men working on a chicken farm, throwing them, stomping on them. I was so sickened by it. I researched more which brought me to PETA's site. It was all too much and I went vegetarian.

Now I realize PETA over exaggerates, is way over the top and can be judgemental, but I still don't want to see animals tortured or killed.

I initially went vegan for health reasons (animal protein contributes to IGF-1 production, which fuels cancer growth and I am at risk for cancer), but it is honestly better for the environment and the animals really don't deserve that sh*t.

I'm vegan because it's a great way to reduce animal exploitation and slaughter.

partly economics and partly because it's so much trouble to buy and cook meat for one person.
