I can t stand reading my own writing?

I just can t bear to read anything I write. I understand this is a common problem for authors, but I m not an author. I m a translator. I can read the original works just fine, so does that mean I m not getting the intended sense or style across? Or is it just the same author problem?

Hmmm... I don't really have a personal attachment to my translated text - except professional pride, as in delivering an error free translation as close to the original as possible. With my own writing, on the other hand, there's certainly moments of "oh man, this sucks".

I cannot say what the problem is for you. Did you try to analyze it? Is it because you're not happy with your translation? Or because you aren't confident that it's done properly? Or something else? Do you have the same feeling with other creative or semi-creative tasks?
