What is proper email etiquette for college students?

My name is Marie and I'm 18 :). I want to email my professor within the next hour but I'm a bit scared and nervous because I sent him a dirty email a few days ago that resulted in a meeting with the dean. I apologized and we've moved on though things are a bit weird (ie eye contact and stuff). So my question is how to email him and sound intelligent and professional.

Dear Prof. X,

A few sentences on the subject matter.

Sincerely,

Jane Doe

Does "Dear" sound flirty? Maybe I'm just overthinking it. Please help!!!!!! Any advice or tips??

    Why do you need to email our professor at all? If you must, skip the Dear and make is short and to the point.

    No "dear", Just "Professor X" Keep everything neutral and to the point and not overly wrought out, simple sentences.

    just start with his name, and stop sending dirty email to people
