In the beginning there was the word.?

And the word was with GOD, and the word was GOD. what does that mean?

Did the ability to create or evolve language coincide with or was it necessary to conceive GOD?

Is conceptual thought even possible without language?

Update:

Or the concept of GOD.

Does this mean that language is paramount?

Update 2:

Why does the Bible refer to GOD as the "WORD"? why not just say, "In the beginning there was GOD."?

Update 3:

Is language necessary to the concept of GODs creation? Or....

Is language necessary to the concept of GOD`s creation?

Update 4:

Is not language not necessary for philosophical or conceptual thought ?

Try to think without using WORDS. What are you left with?

"Time itself must come to a stop [at the singularity]. You can’t get to a time before the big bang, because there was no time before the big bang. We have finally found something that does not have a cause because there was no time for a cause to exist in. For me this means there is no possibility of a creator because there is no time for a creator to have existed. Since time itself began at the moment of the Big Bang, it was an event that could not have been caused or created by anyone or anything. … So when people ask me if a god created the universe, I tell them the question itself makes no sense. Time didn’t exist before the Big Bang, so there is no time for God to make the universe in. It’s like asking for directions to the edge of the Earth. The Earth is a sphere. It does not have an edge, so looking for it is a futile exercise.” Stephen Hawking

The concept of the Word (or in Greek "Logos") was a well known philosophical concept at that time. It was the idea that everything that is the spiritual will reflect or represent itself in the physical. (And some also argued that everything in the physical had its conterpart in the spiritual.)

When the author of the gospel of John spoke of Jesus as being "the Logo", he meant that Jesus was the reflection/representation/presence of God in the physical universe. The author argued that Jesus was not just "with God" (something that was like God or a stand in for God) but actually God Himself in physical form.

While the English word "Word" does tie into the concept of language, the Greek word "Logos" does not. Rather it is more like the English word "Logo" where you have something (such as a corporate symbol or an image) that represents a larger thing (the corporation itself). When you see the Logo, you are reminded of the "Object" behind it.

So Jesus was the representation (Logo) of God himself. But He did not stop at being just an image that goes alone with God, he was actually God Himself ("with God and was God") .

Go to converse 3 and then 14. It then becomes obvious John was talking about a person. Take the bible as is and there won't be so much confusion

    Not that complicated. Jesus is Jehovah's REPRESENTATIVE-John 7:29. He is Jehovah's Faithful Witness-Rev 1:5.

in the beginning Jesus was the Word of God, and he was a God, and together, they are building a kingdom in Heaven, that earth cannot contain. and we are called to join them, but to obey, and to accept the gospel of jesus Christ, whom the Father sent, Jesus did not send himself. John 8:42 kjv

I found this translation to be different because of LDS conversion. so, which one is most correct. ? if the latter, than the bible needs much correcting to change false translation and false traditions and other interpretations.

Language is far from paramount: but it is, largely, all we have to

    communicate with.

Even 'word' is an inadequate translation of Logos.......but we do not have a better one.

It's talking about the beginning of creation. And if you keep reading, it says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us; it's talking about Jesus.
