Would you have considered it dirty if Alabama had committed intentional pass interference at the end of the game to force OT?

Keep committing penalties until there was no time left so Clemson would be forced to kick a FG.

    Dirty? No

Would have been smart of their part.

Grab the receivers, take the PI call. Ball moves to the 1 yard line. 4 seconds off the clock. Clemson faced with going for it on 1 play or kick the FG and go to OT.

Rather surprised Alabama did not do it.

No. As it happened, there wasn't a defender close enough to the receiver who caught the ball to make a difference. Any penalty against another receiver would have been turned down for the TD. But even if that could have happened, Clemson would eventually get an untimed down

Even after time elapsed, eventually a pass would have been completed or Watson would have scrambled for a TD and the penalty would be declined. Eventually, the exponential decay of half the distance to the goal line would be immeasurable and the ball would always be an immeasurably short distance from the goal line at the start of play.

No, I won't consider it dirty . It's almost like hack a shaq penalty . But they were playing dirty when they were trying to hurt Watson on purpose . I saw those late hits on Watson , they had criminal intent for sure .

Can a half end on a defensive penalty in college ball? Because it can't in the NFL. Wouldn't that have then given Clemson the ball on the 2 yard line with an untimed down?

Yes it would be dirty, legal sure, but dirty in my mind. I'm not even arguing if it is a good idea or not. Just saying it's dirty to me.

they were all over the receivers the previous play, i dont know why they didnt hold em again on the final play

dirty? you can call it that... some other people might call it situational awareness or playing the hand you were dealt

im excited to see where watson gets drafted now that he declared though
