Recent Utah high school assignment sexist?

Now I agree that this particular assignment was, well, not essential and shouldn't have been handed out by the school but could anyone tell me what exactly on the list shown in the article for women, (it doesn't show the list for men which is a big red flag to anyone with a brain) is sexist?

Update 2:

found the boys paper hidden in a photo gallery on another site

http://www.sltrib.com/csp/mediapool/sites/sltrib/P...

Update 3:

couple other sites i looked up only posted blurry pics of boys paper and blatantly lied about what was written on there or took it wildly out of context.

Update 4:

@ChemFlunky

have to add multiple replies thanks to yahoo's character limit.

1)the male paying for dinner is still expected in most of society and where as it may not be fair it doesn't imply that a woman can't pay for dinner or the bill can't be split. saying that statement is sexist is an overreaction to a minor wording issue.

Update 5:

@ChemFlunky

2) Being feminine and ladylike has nothing to do with stereotypes it just means that you should show some class tact in your actions and not do things like rip a loud fart and laugh obnoxiously loud. you're adding dubious meaning to support your argument.

Update 6:

@ChemFlunky

3) being gentlemanly is the act of treating another with respect, courtesy, and mindfulness. which yes, includes adherence to some traditional acts but is in no way sexist. it's not meant to "establish dominance over women" as some might say, it's to pamper your date and take care of her if anyone has a problem with that i seriously doubt their sanity.

Update 7:

and last but not least

@ChemFlunky

again, the lack of a separate paper for the LGB community does not exclude their existence and is in no way sexist because LGB are not genders, they are sexualities they could easily just take whichever paper they felt applied to them more depending on what role they felt more comfortable and still made it work.

the stuff for boys paper are social norms and where you may not agree, it doesn't mean they're sexist nor set in stone laws.

    1. The assumption that he will, necessarily, be the one paying for the date.

    2. "Be feminine and ladylike". Read "act like a stereotypical girl, rather than being yourself, whoever that may be"

    3. "Give him a chance to be gentlemanly"

    There may be other, more subtle ways that it's sexist, as well. And, of course, there's the "LGBT people don't exist" angle (ie the entire list obviously assumes that each and every girl *will* be dating a boy)

    I will admit that, well, probably at least 70% of the list is good dating advice for, well, anyone of any gender (like "Be ready on time" and "Relax and be yourself"). But there are some... yeah, '60's much?

    edit:

    looking at the boy's paper as well... again, the assumption that he will be paying, and he will be driving. And that he's supposed to open doors for her (I can bloody well open a door, I think whoever gets to the door first should open it for the other)

    Hmm ... that's not the word I would have started with.

    I think I'd call it "dated". INCREDIBLY old fashioned, like it was written in the 50s. Including the $5.

    There are all kinds of assumptions (who is driving, who is paying, dress code, etc) that are simply laughable.

    The basic premise, be polite and considerate of the other person's feelings, are actually pretty good, but when distilled to that level, it's basically the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have done to you ... for $5."

    No, this isn't misogyny in action. It's the kind of regressive thinking that allowed Bob Dole to, when he was running for President, boast he was going to create a bridge to the past.

    Of course, Clinton made then made him look like a fool by saying he was building a bridge to the future. I notice that nobody has put significant money into the infrastructure budget, but apparently all these bridges were metaphorical.

    Yeah, I miss the good old days too - I wish I'd lived through them.

    I found it kind of obvious where it was going when it stated sexist dress code. Coz making children dress appropriately and presentably for the public is sexist. Yeah, I'm sure they let boys go to school with no shirts on and just a pair of footy shorts and pluggers...... Yeah they clearly stated there were papers for both boys and girls yet only showed the girls and claimed sexism only against the girls. Well if it was truly sexist only against the girls if at all why not show the boys paper as a comparative then the sexism would be undeniable.
