Pope Francis and Donald Trump. What do you think of this telegram he sent Trump?
Francis sent Trump a Telegram about him being president, being cordial. In it he quoted the Parable of Lazarus and Rich Man Jesus tells. In it the Rich Man ends up in Hell do to his failure to take care of the poor symbolized in Lazarus who was under such crushing poverty that dogs were licking his wounds at the Rich Man's gates. Which is interesting considering Trump is a Rich billionaire and his views on the poor.
In the past Francis seems not to have had a positive view of Trump. He said Trump wasn't a Christian because of what he saw as his racist and xenophobic remarks about migrants and refugees. But he also said he could care less about the personality of the president. He only cares how their policies affect the poor.

I think the letter had a positive tone to it:
"Under your leadership, may America’s stature continue to be measured above all by its concern for the poor, the outcast and those in need," the pontiff said.
So I think it was just telling Trump he has a great responsibility ahead of him. I think we should all pray for Trump

this begs the question ! who has more authority? the church or the King....
when it comes to the church the pope has all the authority, but only to catholics and then only to those that believe the pope is actually a vicar for Christ. To the king, all authority is give because he has armies and the military to keep power and tyranny, if the pope is false the king rules, if the king is a tyrant or despot, than no protestant will bow down to a pope. and people gone to war over these matters. Even in Israel, both the King and the pope seemingly fought over who has power. God proved to Saul and David that the prophet speaks the will of God. but it is really God and Jesus w/ the Holy Ghost that rule over Earth and its Heavens. aiui. Trump has authority over American citizens Hopefully to use the military to spread freedom and liberty, with the patriotism of historic constitutional beliefs and executive orders that are constitutional. the Pope, as he has shown himself, is against all protestants as mose American Christians are "not" saved as he teaches. only catholics are saved.
from my perspective and individual studies and beliefs, I don't think this POPE ever speaks for Jesus ! I think because of the apostasy of all the world and in every religion, the catholic church lost any priesthood authority, and most likely from around the 2nd and third century. if there was any underground authority, there seems to be no doubt that even the gentiles lost all authority or never HAD it, by attrition alone and by the lack of actual ordination of the priesthood and the keys of authority being lost. hence the idea that the bible has all authority, when it never had authority to ordain elders as spoken of in Acts
but specifically when it comes to the Rich not entering the kingdom of God, let me clarify a few things, Jesus also said: all things are possible, most likely if Trump does not repent of his stealing and fraud, He wont enter the kingdom of God himself, but the same things apply to the Pope as well ! what is the definition of Rich, and how do they obtain it. that's what makes the differences. Jesus said all things are possible, so there are rich men who have been saved in times past with the first fruits resurrection, there were many saints that were sometimes rich and yet they came forth in a resurrection with the Lord. and I think the Lord was in the process of resurrecting the faithful around the world for at least a year after his own resurrection, but don't quote me on that.
