Do you think the government should let big business charge you more money to not have bad internet service?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-taps-commissioner...

so they will be able to throttle the internet speeds and force people and companies to have slow internet access unless they pay more money.

Do you "THINK " ( AGREE ) the goverment should ALLOW big business to charge you more money to NOT have bad internet service ?

Or to Regulate the SPEED of your internet service and if you want higher speed to charge you more ..

or to PURPOSELY Change your present internet speed meaning DECREASE it on purpose and then Justify charging you more to REVERSE a ACTION they did with INTENT , for the purpose to charge more money .

....so just keep that answer up and let the gullible think about it a while because most of LAW is about discovering ones INTENT or motivation

so What is INTERNET speed ? it is not actually speed but the AMOUNT of data that can be sent to you aka Bandwidth think of it as a FREEWAY All cars traveling at the SAME Speed

so to get MORE DATA from the computer the FREEWAY NEEDS to be WIDER

an association 1 Mbps is a ONE LANE freeway and 5 Mbps is a 5 Lane freeway

so WHAT effects your internet speed 4 things

CONNECTION type ( some lanes can not be widened and are fixed and if you were always on a 5 lane freeway nothing has changed )

traffic Congestion ( peak times of Use can you actually change the times people are using the internet most people are awake in a society at the same time on a 24 hour period

    Bad old wires and equipment

and finally Distance meaning the further away from the HUB the longer it takes for data to reach you .( that is usually not changed )

..so if they are charging you MORE they need to DEMONSTRATE which of those 4 factors they IMPROVED or Changed in order to charge you MORE

What do you mean? It's been that way already for decades.

They already do that. It's called Broadband Capping. They put speed governors on all major broadband modems when they are built. You can get rid of them and get close to terabyte levels of speed.

But they have been doing that since 1996. They just have speeds so insanely fast now. That are like 10,000 terebyte speeds. Or more. I hear they invented new types of ways to transfer data via lasers or something. And they don't want people to have it for free and they want to pretend all your videogames are glitchy and netflix in 2016 can't load something faster than you can load a VCR.

And the cable companies have a tight grip on all this technology. Students at MIT have reproduced it by making it on their own. And it's just lame no one can get access to it. Even after they get their way, they wont release everything. It will just be stuff that finally works. Because they are greedy and hate people.

Government shouldn't involve itself, competition should take care of it.
