We (true believers) will be privileged to habitually be with the Lord, while the unsaved will be forever precluded from entering Jesus' holy city. "But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolater, and whoever loves and practices a lie" (Rev. 22:15). A "dog" in the Old Testament could refer to a male prostitute (Deut. 23:18). The Gentiles or unsaved heathen were also given this designation by the Jews (Phil. 3:2-3), suggesting uncleanness. Those also kept from the sanctified city are the sexually immoral. This word is used broadly of various kinds of sexual sin. Excluded also are the murderers, idolaters, and chronic liars.

John of Patmos lived in Nero's Rome, where Hellenistic polytheism (the Roman variant) was the state religion. In addition, there were various other cults, including other sects of Christianity. Note that in Revelations, there's seven Holy Spirits.
