I'm an atheist and I would like to see the world evolve towards abandoning religion and superstition but I am NOT in favour of forcing it by banning religion. Education is the best tool for bettering the human race but it takes time. People have the right to believe what they want (even if it isn't true). Personally I don't believe anything in the Bible but I wouldn't ban it. I prefer evidence based knowledge. People just have to learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction.
P.S. - I don't know a single atheist who supports a forcible ban on religion, they mostly just want people to use rationality instead of superstition. That can't be achieved by laws. As I said, education is the best tool.

The bible is a book of superstition whose prophecies can be massaged to fit many events that will naturally occur throughout human history.
Prophecies are an old trick - about as old as prostitution. Prophecies are based on a cryptic message that has no date of arrival - keeping its believers guessing into eternity - and making it a timeless prediction.
Given enough time, there will eventually be an event that bears a striking similarity to the original message which is then verbally massaged to create a startling match.
Some prophecies have been perpetuated for so long, that there have been dozens of events in history that match the original message.
Whether the prophecy comes from an ancient scroll or a 1-900 number, the tactics are the same.
Many of the most important events in the history of the world were missed by all of these so-called prophets: the discovery of America, the end of slavery, heliocentrism, electricity, speed of light, fossil record, the atomic bomb, Hitler, Darwin, Dawkins, television, cell phones, breaking the sound barrier, walking on the moon, age of the universe, the internet, and the election of Obama.
Wanna know why these so-called "prophets" only talk about chariots, swords, horses and camels in the "end of days" and not tanks, B-52s and the HK-416 assault rifle??
The answer is incredibly simple.
Even Jesus spoke of people fleeing to Judea in the "end of days" as well as women grinding with a hand mill. Too bad he didn't know that Judea would no longer exist and that women would be buying pre-packaged flour in supermarkets.

Oh bullshit. Atheists really don't care what your religion is (or anyone else) because it has no impact on their lives. Atheists aren't supporting banning all religion so take that off the table unless you can provide some facts. Cite your sources.
