How do I make a girl happy? And have you got any good jokes?

One of my friends was dumped by her boyfriend really recently and she has been depressed for a few days. I like her, and she is one of my closest friends so I just want to make her happy because I hate seeing her like this. I need advice on what to do. I have tried to say a few jokes, she has responded positively to them but I don't really have anymore. I do want her to like me back but I don't think I should be a rebound or anything so I know that I can't just say loads of compliments (more than normal). I am just looking for some good ideas so please could you be nice and give real advice?
