How do I get my dog's hair smooth?
Greetings
I got this Chihuahua off the street. It's hair was HARD like a street dog's hair would be. However, after 2 months the dog's hair is still hard. There is no smoothness at all. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I use fish oil tablets for my dogs. Their coats have become super soft and they love it!

Maybe it's not a purebred chihuahua and is mixed with something else. I've seen chihuahua terrier mixes, that have a harsh or wiry coat.

Not your dog to keep, turn it into a shelter/rescue, where it will get the care it needs, and it's owner may claim it, you may mention, if you wish, that if no one claims the dog, you wish to adopt it legally.

It will take some time and nutrition. Once the fur gets the proper nutrition, and mabye, even some hair falling out and regrowing, then you will likely see an improvement in condition.
Bathing and using a conditioner may help, but likely nutrition.

Take your dog the the groomers. They can always find out, instead of wasting money at the vets. Something probably fell on her then it hardened. Or she has matted fur.
Also try putting oil on it to moisturized the fur but also try taking off the hardness. (keep rubbing until it comes off, it also might not work because don't know the cause of it
Sometimes it could be because lack of diet.
Also, Give your dog some fruits and veggies, make sure you look up if they aren't poisonous
Heres the info of the veggies and fruits:

Don't feed too much at a time. Your dog might not be able to handle it at first.
