An electron is accelerated by a uniform electric field (1400 V/m ) pointing vertically upward?

use Newton's laws to determine the value of electron's velocity after it moves 0.50 cm from rest.

    a = Eq/m

    a = (1400)*(1.6*10^-19) / (9.1*10^-31)

    a = 2.46*10^14 m/s^2

    v = sqrt(2aS)

    v = sqrt(2*2.46*10^14*0.5*10^-2)

    v = 1.568*10^6 m/s
