I stepped on my cats tail and he screamed in pain?

I can not stop crying right now. I was letting my cat in from outside because he likes walking around a little bit. I thought he was all the way inside so I close the screen door and for like 3 seconds and he screaming in an agonizing pain that I've never heard before. He's fine now, like he conpletely forgot about it. I still feel bad though and I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight because all I keep thinking about is that sound he made. I feel like such a terrible person. He scratched my foot when the door was closed on his tail because he was trying to grip onto something to pull his way out. My foot was and still is gushing blood. I deserved it thpugh. Hpw can I stop thonking about this? I'm a 14 year old girl and really sensitive.

Don't feel bad ok? 😊 its not if you did it on purpose, accident happens sometimes and im sure that he screamed in fear more than pain, i once accidentaly stepped on my cat's head in the dark and he was 5weeks old he got head trauma and i was about to lose him, i felt bad too and blamed myself for not being more carefull because i knew he follows me everywhere, but don't worry im sure your cat is fine and you're not a bad person it shows that you care about your cat, but if you want to be sure just take him to the vet they will be able to tell you if he's fine.

So the pair of you hurt one another on accident. You both learned a lesson today, he learned to come in quicker and you learned to make sure he is all the way in before shutting the door.

If you're not holding a grudge for him scratching you, he is not holding a grudge for you shutting his tail.

You're not giving your kitty credit for being able to sense good and bad intent. In fact, you're likely to upset your kitty by feeling so guilty, our animals sense these strong emotions in us and when we are sad you'll notice our pets become a bit dull, not a s perky as they are when we are happy.

So buck up Darlin, your kitty doesn't hate you. And as far as the scream he made, you would have screamed too. Don't hold his vocals against him, he wouldn't hold the way you sound had you screamed when you got scratched.

You're not that sensitive. If you were, you'd actually care enough about your cat to not let it run loose outside where it will eventually get killed.

Well then think about how you'll feel when he doesn't come home because he's been run over by a car or eaten by a coyote? STOP LETTING HIM OUT.
