For gaming, which should I pick? AMD or Intel?

_Right_now_, for those games, I'd stick to Intel, since the smaller Ryzen chips (or motherboards to use them on) aren't available yet. The large Ryzen chips (like the i7) are massive overkill in your case.

you might wait to see how well RYZEN 4 and 6 cores game. If they do as well as the 8 cores then they might be a better option especially if you are on a budget. Ryzen and latest intels run very close with only a few frames per second difference.
