Is there a Bible parallel between the Babylonian captivity of the Israelites and the Babylonian "captivity" of the mainstream "church?"
Are the similarities between "pagan" Babylonian (and other ancient belief systems teachings) and mainstream "church" dogmas evidence that the mainstream "church" is still in Babylonian "captivity?"

The fact of the matter, Babylon was a picture of hell, we if we are a true believer have to go through hell, before we become saved, same with Egypt, Egypt was a picture of hell when the Jews went through the red sea, it was a picture of God the Lord Jesus Christ bring them out of bondage of hell, and into the promise land of Cana. Also where the law end salvation begins, because the law of God can not save anyone, the only thing the law of God does is it condemns man to eternal death; read Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Also if you are a true believer of God, than you will walk in the Spirit of God, because there is no law when you walk in the Spirit of God, so the law of God can not condemn you, when you walk in the Spirit of God, read Galatians 5:17-23

You have a few things mixed up here. Babylon does represent ALL the false religions in the world then and now.
But that INCLUDES all of Christendom! Not excludes it. After the 1st century, true Christians were in bondage to Babylon the Great. They remained that way until this past century. It was time to come out, be taught again, what they needed to know. Then given the tools and support to get it done.
But get correct, please! All of Christendom would love nothing better than to see true Christianity dead, tossed in the gutter somewhere. Killed by them and alltge false religions of Babylon the Great.

People throughout history have taken biblical stories and events and have tried to find in them "parallels" that apply to current events. It's really not hard to find vague parallels between some historical event and something completely unrelated occurring at the present time.
One of the most famous such examples is Martin Luther's book, "On the Babylonian Captivity of the Church" in which he claimed to find many parallels between the 16th century Catholic Church and this biblical event.

Many Christians since then have preached on a similar theme.

The residence of the Papacy in Avignon is generally referred to as "the Babylonian Captivity of the Church."
You will find the article below sheds some light. It's a complicated mess, to put it mildly.

the babylonian captivity refers to submission to an external non-religious source and could refer to anything from idolatrous treachery towards God to romantic involvement with worldly beings - it depends on the context.
