If every town has an Elm Street. Can we make a new non-pedo Freddy movie on another and forget about the beta mode remake?

So what would your Freddy have done? Dude was always a pedo, it was just more subtle when Wes Craven did the original movie. I mean the subtle telling was better, but that's always been Freddy. Also why not make a more different movie instead of trying to cash in on the franchise name? Totally changing Freddy's motives and the accusations would be as dumb as the remake of the Karate Kid.
