Buying 2006 Subaru Legacy outback $7000?

So I m looking to buy my first car, and I just want to know if this is an ok deal- 2006 Legacy outback 2.5i, leather interior, 137,000 miles. New break pads. Timing belt, head gaskets, and water pump were all replaced at 100,000 miles. Has the moon roof too. I live in Utah, so the awd is a necessity for ski season. Anyways, the asking price is $7000. Every thing looks to be in good condition minus a few minor scratches on the interior. Deal or no deal?

    Sounds like a fair deal.

Subaru had some issues with head gaskets on the earlier 2.5L engines but I believe they had it addressed before the 2006 model year and if the gaskets have been done already then you should be good, just ask the seller for proof of the work (receipts from repair shops), then call those shops and ask them to verify their records to make sure the paperwork isn't fake.

Altogether though it sounds like a pretty fair deal.

I would suggest taking it to a mechanic to have them give it a once-over (usually about $70 - but get quotes.

If the owner isn't willing to let you do it, then no deal.
