Muslims: If some one is a truth seeker, has an open mind but because he is just simply not able to make sense of the religion due to ...?
Shortcomings In his reasoning and thinking abilities and not because he is stubborn and unwilling to accept the religion, will that person go to hell.
For example, suppose you teach Science o maths in school. Although the kids are willing to learn, some of the kids won't be able to make sense of some the theories you are teaching them and some will grap the idea fast.

It is a good question. But it also means you do not know Islam :)
The one who really knows what is Islam and then refuses it, then he refuses the religion which God chose for us,humans.
" And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers." (Quran 3:85)
But now let's go back to your question. Why would a person find it hard to understand or realize that there is one creator (Allah) which is literally translated as (The God) and the one God sent only one message to all mankind.
Is this hard to understand? hard to realize? hard to accept?
It is so logical and so simple.
One God sent One message to all mankind.
Islam is to worship God alone, without any partner and to submit to Him.
This is the core of Islam.
The relation between a person and God is direct. There is no intermediates. You are born clear from sins and you bear your own sins or the sins you cause to happen. You want forgiveness you seek it directly from God. You want help, you seek it directly from God.
Again, It is logical and simple.
Why would any rational person who seeks the truth find it hard to understand this and to accept it ?
If you are seeking the truth , think about Islam. the truth is always logical. God is fair enough to make it logical and so simple that it is understood by all people.
Now a question may come...if there is only one message sent from God, why there are many messengers and divine books?
In fact humans have been living for many years. the first man was Adam and God taught him what he needed to know, and of course how to worship the one God. On earth, Adam taught his children what he knew and his children taught their children and so on. People increased and lived in different places. And whenever people deviate from His religion, God sent a prophet or a messenger to guide people back to the truth. This is why we have many messengers. To every nation God sent a warner.
"( 23 ) You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner.
( 24 ) Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner." (Quran 35: 23-24)
All of the messengers delivered the same message. They called people to worship God alone without any partner and to submit to Him. All of them did that. Even prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) did that.
Every messenger was sent to his own people. But then God sent his final messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him). He is the final messenger and so he was sent not to his own people but to all people since his time till the end of time.
It is a condition of faith in Islam to believe in all the messengers of God and all the divine books sent by God. But in the case of divine books, Muslims believe only in the original ones. The previous books which exist now are changed and distorted.
To the final messenger Muhammad (pbuh), God sent the final revelation Quran. Quran is the only revelation that is not altered nor distorted till now. It is still in its original language since it was revealed more than 1400 years ago. God promised to preserve it ...it is the final revelation sent to the final messenger. God preserved it for us and till the end of time for all people to have the chance to read the revelation even if they did not live in the time of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

He will go to heaven , even if he choose other religion too . God creates different religions to serve our different degrees of consciousness , yet all religions are just different ways to God .
Quran 5:48 " To every one of you We have appointed a law a method and an open way . If God had willed, He would have made you one nation ( into one religion ) ; but He wanted to see who are the more pious ones among you. Compete with each other in righteousness. All of you will return to God who will tell you the truth in the matter of your differences " .
"Muslims and Non Muslims Will Go to Heaven " Quote by Gnostic Muslim Imam Abdul Karim Al jili ( Born in1366 in Baghdad ) .
" All Beings are in reality the manifestation of God's attributes , if God alone really is , the all ways ultimately leads to him " Quote by Gnostic Muslim Imam Ibn Arabi ( Born in 1165 Andalusia/Spain ) .
